Westminster man charged with burglary, larceny and stealing a pickup

On Tuesday, Oconee County Deputies arrested 34 year-old Timothy Corey Lear of Westminster and charged him with possession of a stolen pickup truck, home burglary first degree, and grand larceny.

Deputies said that back on the night of Monday, June 14, a deputy patrolling Poplar Springs Road stopped a 2001 Chevy Silverado because it didn’t have working tail lights. While the deputy questioned a passenger, the driver fled on foot. The truck had been reported stolen that same day from a location in Foxwood Hills.

The charges of burglary and larceny stem from an earlier home burglary, in which Lear is accused of stealing guns, checkbooks and other items from an Oak Creek Road residence. He remains in jail with a total bond amount set at $70,000.
