Westminster Man Facing Drug Charges

Lee Roy Witt, 49, from Westminster, is currently in jail following his arrest for trafficking methamphetamine. This arrest was part of a joint proactive criminal enforcement operation between the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy from Pickens County initiated a traffic stop on a Nissan Sedan, where Witt was a passenger. After refusing consent to search the vehicle, a K-9 officer was deployed and gave a positive alert on the passenger side of the vehicle. A search of Witt revealed approximately 202.4 grams of methamphetamine.

Witt was previously arrested on June 22nd of this year on charges of trafficking and distribution of methamphetamine. He was out on bond prior to this latest arrest, and bond was denied for these latest charges.

The Oconee County Sheriff, Mike Crenshaw, emphasized the importance of proactive criminal enforcement operations and interagency cooperation in ensuring the safety of their counties.
