Westminster Proposed Budget for Upcoming Fiscal Year

A proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year in Westminster is set to undergo its first reading by the city council. The budget outlines expenses of approximately $28.5 million, with a notable reduction in the city’s millage rate from 99.3 mills to 95.8 mills. This change in the property tax rate is expected to increase revenue. Additionally, if the council approves the proposal, the salaries for the mayor and council members will increase significantly. Currently, the mayor receives $2,300 and council members receive $2,000, but the proposed budget would raise the mayor’s salary to $12,000 and council pay to $7,200. The first reading of the budget is scheduled for Tuesday, May 9th.
