Westminster – Train Pedestrian Death

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said that at approximately 5:40 pm on Saturday afternoon, a 26 year-old Westminster man was struck by a southbound Norfolk Southern freight train on the rail line adjacent to North Avenue near Earl Holcombe Street within the City of Westminster.  

Trevor Hobbie Turner, 26, of Westminster died instantly from multiple blunt force trauma injuries.  

Mr. Turner was walking on the rail line when he was struck. This was reported by the engineer and the conductor of the train and there were witnesses at the nearby Anderson Park. 

The deceased was identified by personal items found at the incident and tattoos.   

The Westminster Police Department is investigating this incident.
