Whitewater Falls Victim recovered by Divers

The Lower Whitewater Falls victim was recovered Monday afternoon by divers. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis identified her as 18-year-old Anna McCall Mimms of Seneca. She was one week shy of her 19th birthday. She had just completed her freshman year in the Bridge Program at Clemson University. On Sunday, Mimms was walking with three other friends along the Whitewater Falls in northern Oconee County when she fell from the top approximately 70 feet. Oconee County rescue crews assisted by surrounding emergency agencies searched for her Sunday from 3:30-8:30pm but were unable to find her. On Monday the search resumed at first light with Mimms discovered around 2pm. The lower Whitewater Falls is the final set of waterfalls on the Whitewater River prior to emptying into Lake Jocassee. Addis say that an examination will be performed today to assist in determining the cause of death.
