WPD Response to Highland Glen Apartments

At approximately 8:30PM Saturday night, Walhalla PD responded to a domestic disturbance at the Highland Glen Apt. Complex. Officers were notified of a potential bomb threat that was made prior to the suspect fleeing on foot. Officers then evacuated the building and requested assistance from Oconee County Sheriff Office and Anderson County Sheriff Office bomb squad. The apartment was cleared by ACSO Bomb Squad and OCSO explosive detection K9. No explosive was located and the scene was released and deemed safe. Tenants were allowed to return home. Walhalla investigators are still investigating this incident.

WPD has no evidence to believe there is a danger to the public.
