Fire closes Huddle House in Seneca

A late night kitchen fire has temporarily closed the Huddle House in Seneca. Around midnight, the Seneca Fire Department was dispatched to the Highway 123 restaurant. No one was injured in the fire, which forced the restaurant to evacuate. Seneca Fire Department Public Information Officer Chris Cartee reports that the Huddle House remains closed pending an investigation of what happened.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Seneca couple on assault charges after an incident involving their 16-year-old daughter. A deputy from the warrants division picked up 47-year-old Tony Mitchell Mulkey at his residence. An investigation into a Saturday night stabbing in Walhalla led to the arrest of a Seneca man. The Walhalla Police Department reports that 32-year-old William Christopher Armstrong stands charge with assault and battery in the second degree. The altercation occurred on South Pine Street and sent the victim to the hospital for treatment of minor wounds.
