Man requires Medical Assistance at Falls

A search and rescue operation ended well Monday evening at one of Oconee County’s popular outdoor destinations. Oconee County emergency first responders were dispatched to Whitewater Falls after a man suffered a medical emergency. Apparently he became overheated at the Falls and required assistance. It took crews over an hour to reach the man due to the rugged terrain.

A section of beach along South Carolina’s coast is no longer under a swimming advisory, reports the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The areas affected was 16th Avenue North in North Myrtle Beach. DHEC says that bacteria levels no longer exceed water quality standards there and the advisory has been lifted.
