Murder Suspect Denied Bond for Third Time

Lakeisha Shanice McLendon

Lakeisha McLendon, a 37-year-old woman from Hartwell, Georgia, has been denied bond for the third time and is being held in the Oconee County Detention Center while awaiting trial for murder. Despite pleas from her lawyer and mother, Judge Lawton McIntosh did not change his mind.

McLendon is charged with the murder of Terrance Matthew Boyd, who died after being stabbed with a screwdriver in the heart. The judge heard that the victim and the accused had been in a relationship, but there was no clear explanation for why it turned violent.

The judge instructed the defense lawyer that he may request bond again in six months. The fact that McLendon lives out of state and the violent nature of Boyd’s death were factors in the judge’s decision.
