Rock Hill Man Arrested on Charges Related to Vehicle Theft from Oconee County Car Dealership

A Rock Hill man is out of jail on bond after his arrest on charges related to the theft of two vehicles from an Oconee County car dealership in a crime that occurred back in May.

22-year-old Xavier Ja’Colby Grase, of Winding Branch Road, was booked into the Oconee
County Detention Center around 3:52pm Tuesday after being transported from the York County Detention Center to the Oconee County Detention Center.

Grase was served arrest warrants on charges of Second-Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny, and Possession of Implements Capable of being used in a Crime in relation to the break-in of a building at Edwards Auto Sales, on Blue Ridge Boulevard in Walhalla, during the early morning hours of May 17th of this year. During the course of the crime, a 2022 green Dodge Charger Hellcat, valued at approximately $93,888.00, and a 2018 Dodge Durango, valued at $49,000.00, was stolen from the dealership.

The Investigation was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau and Evidence
Technicians from the Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene that morning. Investigators were notified on May 17th that the Dodge Durango was located in Charlotte, NC. Investigators were also notified that the body of the Dodge Charger Hellcat was also recovered in Charlotte.

Based on evidence gathered during the Investigation, and according to arrest warrants,
Investigators believe that Grase was working with two other individuals in regard to the crime at Edwards Auto Sales. Grase was also in possession of a crowbar, according to an arrest warrant, during the commission of the crime.

Grase was released from jail after posting a combined $60,000.00 surety bond. Grase must wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond.
