The Seneca Bobcat varsity football team lost to the Broome Centurions, 30-17, in the first round of the state AAA playoffs on Friday night.  Braxton Gambrell lead the Bobcats with two rushing touchdowns but turnovers proved to be Seneca’s undoing as the Bobcats committed four and the Centurions had none.  Seneca finishes its season with a 6-5 record.

South Carolina junior defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and Clemson junior defensive end Vic Beasley are among 12 players named as semifinalists for the 44th Rotary Lombardi Award. The award will be presented December 11th.

The ACC has selected two Clemson Tigers as Football Players of the Week. Clemson junior Sammy Watkins was named the ACC Receiver of the Week for the second time this season following a record-setting day in the Tigers’ ACC road win at Maryland. Clemson’s Brandon Thomas picked up ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors as well.
